Oil Change and Alignment for Vitality

I was driving by a car repair shop when I saw a sign for a sale on oil changes and alignments. I thought to myself in a sense we too need an oil change and alignment to keep things running well.

In fact proper alignment of our spine is critical to vitality. Have you ever noticed someone with poor posture and how much older they look. When we are in alignment vital energy flows from our spine to our organs and tissues keeping them healthy and vital and when out of alignment that vital energy gets pinched off.

As for the oil change I liken that to flushing the old stagnate blood from the organs and tissues and filling them with fresh oxygenated blood.

There are a few ways you can do the human version of an oil change and alignment – my favorite is qigong. You can also improve your posture through yoga, chiropractic treatments or through exercises like those found in the Foundation Training program by Dr. Eric Goodman.

There are many qigong routines that can benefit your health and wellbeing. I like doing a couple 10 minute routines throughout the day and find the following moves are great for strengthening my back and refreshing my organs with new blood and oxygen.

The following are 4 qigong moves I like to practice daily for alignment and refreshing my body:

Twisting at the Waist – the exercise is 2 minutes into the video however the first part does describe how to stand.

Carrying the Moon

Carrying Mountains

I find the best results when I practice these movements daily. Find a practice that fits you and make it a daily practice.
