Foot Bath for Sandal Ready Feet

 In DIY

I love a nice warm bath to melt away the stresses of the day.

On those days when I can’t fit a bath in but could use the comfort of warm water, I indulge in a foot bath.

Our feet are important – they carry us around, keep us from falling over and the soles of our feet are linked with different organs or systems in our body according to reflexology. Making a foot bath an important part of your wellbeing.

The following is a foot bath that will help to get your feet ready for all the cute sandals you have in your closet. I think you will find foot baths a simple and enjoyable way to care for your feet as well as de-stress.

Foot Bath

A bin/bowl that you can fit both feet in

1/2 cup of Himalayan Pink Sea Salt

Water to fill the bin to the point of covering the feet

Pumice stone

2 towels

2 drops of lavender essential oils (optional)

Gather all supplies and take them to a place that you can sit for about 20 minutes. I find this a great TV time therapy. You can sit and soak your feet while you watch your favorite show. Lay a towel on the floor for when water spills out of your foot-soaking container. Place your container on the towel, fill with very warm water, and then add Himalayan Pink Sea Salt to the foot bath water. If using the essential oil add the essential oil to the salt before adding it to the foot bath helping the essential oils mix better in the water.

Soak you feet for 20 minutes then use a pumice stone to remove the dead skin. Rinse your feet, pat them dry and add some oil to them to moisturize them. I like to use mustard oil and then I put on a pair of old soaks and relax letting the oil soak in. You can use almond oil, coconut oil, argan oil, rosehip oil or whatever your favorite go to oil is.
