During camping season I would make several servings of this drink and pour it into jars and refrigerate then take it with us camping. Warm the drink and viola you have a delicious campfire hot cacao to drink with your camping buddies. Now that it is fire pit season you can do the same and impress your friends with a thick scrumptious hot cacao around the fire.
2 Heaping tablespoons raw organic cacao powder
1 tablespoon organic coconut oil
Yacon syrup, raw honey or maple syrup
6 ounces almond, coconut or hemp milk
Heat milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in cacao powder and coconut oil heat to desired temperature. Once desired temperature, sweeten to taste and your drink is ready to serve. For a more intense flavor, let the chocolate rest for ten minutes, then reheat and serve. Even better, refrigerate the chocolate overnight and reheat the next day. Something about the setting process brings out the chocolate flavor and increases the thickness of the drink. Add a couple drops of peppermint extract for a holiday drink. This recipe is for one serving.
